The Production Cycle for Animatronic Dinosaur Products

The Production Cycle: A Matter of Size and Quantity

The production cycle for animatronic dinosaur products can be variable, depending on the quantity and size of the dinosaurs. Let’s take, for instance, the production of five animatronic dinosaurs of less than 10 meters each. Here’s a breakdown of the time needed for each stage of the process:

Material Preparation: 1-2 days
Most animatronic dinosaurs are custom-made to order. Thus, our company reorganizes materials according to the order requirements, which takes approximately 1-2 days.

Welding of Mechanical Structure: 2-4 days
The construction of the internal steel structure is the first and one of the most crucial steps in the production of animatronic dinosaurs. It determines the proportion and shape of the dinosaur. Installing drive motors in corresponding locations to ensure smooth dinosaur movement is a job for skilled welders. This stage typically takes about 2-4 days.

From Muscle Sculpting to Skin Coloring: The Artistry Behind Animatronic Dinosaurs

Carving of the Dinosaur’s Muscle Structure: 2-3 days
After the transmission welding, the muscle sculpture begins. Craftsmen attach a large piece of foam together and use specific carving tools to create the muscle texture of the animatronic dinosaur, usually taking 2-3 days to complete.

Production of Dinosaur’s Skin: 2-3 days
The finished skin of an animatronic dinosaur looks full and lifelike, and serves waterproof and tear-resistant purposes. Craftsmen first attach a layer of elastic fiber cloth on the dinosaur surface to enhance the skin’s strength. Then, using gasoline as a solvent, silicone glue is dissolved and evenly brushed on the elastic fiber cloth, providing a waterproof effect. This process usually takes about 2-3 days.

Skin Coloring Process: 1-2 days
The skin coloring process is crucial as it determines the overall effect of the dinosaur. Artists spray a layer of special paint on the dinosaur’s skin, sketching out specific patterns according to customer orders, which typically takes 1-2 days.

Production Cycle

The production cycle of an animatronic dinosaur ranges from a minimum of 8 working days to possibly 14 working days. The production cycle might extend, considering factors such as quantity, size, temperature, and order saturation. Hence, if you have a time-limited dinosaur project, please contact us in advance to ensure sufficient production time.
