Mamenchi localities in the Sichuan Basin
In 1952, the skeleton of a large sauropod was unearthed during the construction of a road near the Mamenchi Ferry at Jinshajiang River (the Yangtze River ) in the suburbs of Yibin city, Sichuan Province. The Yibin Cultural Centre sent collected fossils to Beijing, life like animatronic dinosaur for sale where these were studied by Young eventually assigned to a new dinosaur named as Mamenchisaurus constructus in 1954.
In 1957, Animatronic Dinosaur the Sichuan Petroleum Expedition team discovered a nearly complete skeleton of Mamenchisaurus at the Taihezhen Town, Hechuan County in the Sichuan Province. It took three months for a joint team ofthe Sichuan Museum and the Chongqing Museum to expose and remove the entire skeleton. This skeleton, missing the skull, was named Mamenchisaurus hochuanensis by Young and Zhao in 1972. The specimen has been housed at the Chengdu Technical University.
